Happy Birthday, Dionne Warwick, Queen of Muzak

Friends are for telling you that some songs just suck

Today’s creeping me out already. In addition to finding out that today will be yet another trying day in Virgoland, I also discovered that today is the birthday of Dionne Warwick, the Queen of Soft-and-Easy Muzak Favorites. Perhaps getting “I’ll Never Love This Way Again” stuck in my head is what my horoscope meant by a trying day?

Come on, sing the chorus with me. Good and loud and with lots of emoting hand gestures. You know you know it. You go to the grocery store.

I know
I'll never
love this way again
So I keep holding on
before
the good is gone
I know
I'll never
love this way again
Hold on,
hold on, hold on
Apologies. Today’s a trying day.

Now that's a great one for belting out loud and just a little sharp. I remember when that song was new. Thanks for putting that in my head :/

Oh that's funny, Yetta. That might have been around the time I started to think she was really funny.

Stop! You'll make me cry out loud. I can't do that. I have to learn how to hide my feelings.

That's all I need--Dionne Warwick written for F Horn. Somewhere someone must have done an arrangement.

Hee hee. This is great.
I have no idea how this song goes, so I'm immune.

Have a better day tomorrow, Sassy. Try starting it with Aretha's "Say A Little Prayer" Belt it out, girl!

Dive, England must be a wonderful place, if you don't have to listen to Dionne Warwick.

ohh. leave her alone. She has sung beautifully over the years. The fact that she is now relegated to muzak is no fault of hers! And Dive, well, i just don't believe you. Pull the other one. As if. LOL.

Walk On By is the greatest love song ever written.

Oh, I know she's talented. Obviously she's got something going on, or she wouldn't be heard on every soft rock station in the land for thirty years (well, maybe talent's not a qualification, but... I get it). However, there are a few ditties that are dramatic to a laughable degree and are really fun to perform under the influence.

Lynn. I'm a musician. I haven't listened to the charts since 1970.
I'm strictly Radio 3 and 4 (all the most exciting music is found on R3 after 10pm - the avant garde end of classical, rock, electronic, world, whatever).
